Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to 4th Grade!!!! I am extremely excited to get to know you and your child as well as get the school year started. My name is Chris Cafaro and I will be your child’s teacher.

I have received my Bachelor Degree from Ottawa University. I have been teaching for three years now. My previous two years were spent at the sixth grade level in the Florence School District. I have had experience working with a wide range of children through coaching and teaching. I am very fortunate to be at Desert Vista. I have heard such wonderful things about the community and the parental support.

I too have a wonderful family. My wife, Susan, and I have been married for nearly 14 years and have two wonderful daughters, Madison and Katy. Both will be attending DVES! Our family also loves dogs. We currently have three; Brutus, Sweet Pea, and Junior. I have some hobbies I enjoy outside of work. I enjoy fly fishing, attending sports events, and collecting sports cards. We also enjoy camping as a family.

I believe that communication between teacher, parent/guardian and student is vital. By working together, your child will have a strong network to help him/her grow socially as well as academically. I will keep in touch with you throughout the year. Forms of communication will come as phone calls, notes sent home, email, and via your student’s agenda. You will also gather information through Parent/Teacher conferences, progress reports, and report cards.
