Dear Desert Vista Families,

Welcome to the first Mustang Messenger of the 2026–2027 school year! Thank you to our amazing staff, students, and families for making the start of the year such a success. It has been wonderful to see our classrooms filled with learning, laughter, and smiling faces.

The Mustang Messenger will be sent each month to keep you informed about important reminders and school events. Be sure to check the important dates section at the bottom.

Please activate your ParentSquare account if you haven't already. ParentSquare allows you to choose your preferred language and ensures you receive all school announcements. Also, please return any remaining beginning-of-the-year paperwork, including the Code of Conduct and Acceptable Use Policy signature page.

⭐ Get Involved
We're looking for volunteers!

Athletic Coaches (Grades 3–5):

  • ⚽ Quarter 2: Soccer
  • πŸ€ Quarter 3: Basketball
  • 🏐 Quarter 4: Volleyball
Coaches volunteer for one 45-minute practice each week plus games. A district volunteer application and Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card are required.

Classroom Volunteers: Contact your child's teacher if you're interested in helping. A volunteer application is required. Fingerprint clearance is only needed when volunteers supervise students without staff present, such as on field trips.

We're also looking for PTO and Site Council members. Without additional volunteers, this may be our final year of having a PTO. Site Council meets quarterly after PTO meetings and helps guide important school decisions.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Together, we'll make it a fantastic year at Desert Vista!

Remember to follow AJUSD, DVES, and DVES PTO on Facebook to see some of the amazing things going on at our school.

August menus and other information is attached.

With Respect,
Mrs. Fant
